Maritime: Maintaining the security of fleets, vessels, and equipment
We understand how critical it is for you to have real time data about the operation of your fleets, vessels and onboard equipment to ensure security, protect your investments and the environment, assure proper maintenance of equipment, and remotely make timely adjustments as needed.
Watch Technologies provides data collection, monitoring and control systems to the maritime industry. Typically we monitor intrusion, flood, fire, internal environmental conditions such as temperature and relative humidity, Cathodic protection, and equipment operations such as pumps, refers, dehumidification equipment, and electrical systems. Anything that can be monitored with a sensor can be watched in real-time. We will provide you with a system that fits your needs and the operational capabilities of your staff; solutions may require little or no special training.
Advantages of SCADA systems
SCADA systems (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) are far more efficient and capable of monitoring fleet and vessel integrity, as well as getting an alarm out, than crew, and they need no support. Whether at harbor or at sea, SCADA technology will give you confidence that vessels will be monitored correctly and find maintenance staff automatically if the need arises saving you time and money; appropriate staff will have at their fingertips real time data for sound decision making, record keeping, and reporting wherever they are.
Track record of success and innovation in the maritime industry
Watch Technologies (WT) has a track record of success serving the maritime industry. In 1995, WT founder and CEO, Jack Goldwasser, won a contract with the US Navy Inactive Fleet to supply four of its fleets (160 vessel systems and four Base Stations in Bremerton, Pearl Harbor, Norfolk, and Philadelphia) with radio-based monitoring and alarm systems. The project was a major success and remains in operation today. It propelled Jack into marine telemetry applications including the USDOT – MARAD Beaumont Reserve Fleet (2004-present) and many out-ported vessels in the Central Region and the Western Region’s Suisun Bay Reserve Fleet (2008-present) in Benicia, California both adopting Watch Technologies’ VesselWatch Marine Telemetry System for general use.
WT is constantly innovating more effective and lower priced products for the maritime industry and organizations involved with water resource management. For example, our new remote terminal unit, the WiSI Mini RTU™ (Wireless Sensor Interface RTU) enables you to collect ship-board data from harbors full of vessels at a very low cost, delivering huge potential savings while offering harbor managers another business opportunity by offering monitoring services to their clients.
